Andrea Mühlbauer
Hey, my name is Andrea Mühlbauer. I am a pattern and surface designer, graphic designer, master embroiderer, seamstress, and fantasy author—multicreative, I suppose you could call it ;-) Many years ago, during my initial training as a parament and flag embroiderer, I discovered my passion for pattern and surface design, which allowed me to individually paint or embroider my own clothing and decorative items. Back then, computers were not yet in use, and even though I now produce my designs digitally, I still often draw my patterns and motifs by hand on paper first—preferably with black ink brush pens, which give many of my designs a comic-like look. I like to draw inspiration from nature—plants, animals, and structures are my favorite motifs, but my penchant for fantasy also comes through in some of my collections.
